We hit the club scene Saturday night with a stop at Club Kactus for "The Original Passa Passa".  Passa Passa is a dance craze that started in Jamaica on Ash Wednesday in 2003.  It is a dance characterized by "wining" and "juking", which are just fancy words for very suggestive grinding and gyrations on the dance floor.  There is also quite a bit of dance motions that simulate intercourse during the dancing.

It was a great time with quite a few people present.  The party didn't really get started until after 1am.  I got quite a few pictures and Rinel also disappeared with my camera and took quite a few photos himself.  Most of the photos are of casino and resort staff.  The last picture is a photo from out front of Club Kactus.

Here's a little video I took of a bird diving (for fish I presume) at Timothy Beach in South Frigate Bay, St. Kitts.

Here's some clips of Evolution Sounds that are based here in St. Kitts.  Two of the dealers at the Royal Beach Casino where I work are involved, Yusef Connor and Trevon Lapsey.  You can see them at various times in the clip.  It is interesting to see some footage from Halifax, Nova Scotia.  They must have a bit of a fan following back in Canada.

I feel like I'm a day behind, but here are some pics of our night out last night at Sugars.  They play Karaoke until about 1am and then the DJ plays.  That's when the locals arrive, about 1am, after the DJ starts spinning.  Here's a few pics of Nick and Chris, two of the golf pros at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club, where I am a member, as they sing a little tune on stage with a few of the gang.  Nick is in the middle of the first pic, and Chris is on the right in the second pic.  Those are some classic singing faces they made while doing a little version of the Bohemian Rhapsody.  I hate to say they butchered it, but hey...  The last picture is Al Ramji, he is the Manager of Loss Prevention at the Marriott, but I worked with him before at Casino Niagara, where he was in Surveillance and Security.  He also worked at the casino in Winnipeg recently.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's a few pictures from our night out last night at Mr. X's Shiggidy Shack, down on the beach.  The band playing is called Royalties.  They were great.  Probably one of the best bands I've heard since I've been in the Caribbean.  The food was also great.  I had the Grilled Lemon Scented Snapper, which was dynamite.  The last photo is a shot of a boat out on the water at Timothy Beach, just in front of The Shiggidy Shack.

Today was a big day as myself, Eric and Warwick managed to mountain bike around the entire island of Nevis.  We got up bright and early at 7am to catch a boat to the island.  Nevis is a beautiful little Caribbean island that is popular with celebrities, many of whom stay at the Four Seasons Resort on the Island.  We arrived there at about 10am at the port of Charlestown, the capital of Nevis.  Charlestown was also the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of the United States Treasury.  Hamilton later being fatally wounded in a duel with Aaron Burr on a bluff overlooking the Hudson River in Weehawken Heights, NJ.  His house was carefully reconstructed on Nevis after an earthquake destroyed the original back in 1840.  There is now a museum there.  Here's a few pics from the "ticket boot" in St. Kitts, where we awaited our departure.  The last couple have Warwick eating a fish he bought from a street vendor before we left.

Here's a few shots of our time on the boat and arrival in Charlestown, Nevis.  You can see a picture of a banana boat bringing a load of bananas into Nevis.

Our first stop was Oualie Beach, where Eric bought a new Mountain Bike at the Wheel World Bike Shop.  Reggie was there to help us out, he sold me my bike as well.  Reggie competes in triathlons around the world and is quite knowledgeable.  He helped us out quite a bit.  Oualie Beach itself was a great little place to visit.

Here's my favorite photo of the day.  I'm standing in front of a ravine at the entrance to the rain forest.  The scenery was incredible.  Photos just don't do it justice.  The last two photos show a huge hill we had to bike up.  It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but the hill was long and steep, about two miles in total.  I had to take a few breaks going up that one.

Here's a few places we stopped along the way for water and supplies.  Add Comments here.

Here's a few interesting pictures from the journey.  And you thought you were late taking down the Christmas decorations.  I'm not sure what is up with the dummy on the couch in the middle of that field.  We stopped at a great Chinese Restaurant near the end of our journey.  It was some of the best Chinese food I've ever had.  We'll definitely go back for more.  We also had a little Ice Cream treat when we got all the way back to Charlestown, while we waited for the boat to take us back to St. Kitts.

Nevisten.jpg (1157558 bytes)     Neviseleven.jpg (1390080 bytes)     Nevistwelve.jpg (1113293 bytes)     Nevisthirteen.jpg (1214216 bytes)     Nevisfourteen.jpg (821926 bytes)

Close to the end of our trip, we stopped at the Hot Springs on Nevis that are fed by the heat from the volcano.  There are little baths built for people to dip into.  There were a few women going commando when we arrived there, but they got dressed and left shortly after we got there.  The water is quite hot since it comes straight from the volcano.

Nevistwenty.jpg (602753 bytes)     Nevistwentyone.jpg (1726731 bytes)     Nevistwentytwo.jpg (1467375 bytes)     Nevistwentythree.jpg (1771215 bytes)     Nevistwentyfour.jpg (1920864 bytes)

Nevistwentyfive.jpg (853167 bytes)     Nevistwentysix.jpg (472313 bytes)

Here's the last few pictures of our trip as we waited in Charlestown for the boat back to St. Kitts.  The last photo is a shipwreck in the harbor outside Charlestown.  It is a little far away, but you can see how far it is leaning to the side.

CharlestownI.jpg (914103 bytes)     CharlestownII.jpg (997714 bytes)     CharlestownIII.jpg (1203215 bytes)     Nevisboats.jpg (572314 bytes)     CharlestownIV.jpg (321614 bytes)

Well, that's a lot of pictures, but it should give a good idea of the great time we had.  Warwick and Eric want to bike around all of the islands in the Caribbean.  I'm not that ambitious, so I'll be happy with St. Kitts and Nevis for now.

One of our Venom players, Justin Turgeon, was the star of the game for the Chippawa RiverHawks tonight, back in Ontario.  The team gives a construction hat to the hardest working player of the game and Justin earned it against the Glanbrook Rangers in beating them 5-3.  Justin stopped 46 of 49 shots to even their Junior C playoff series at two apiece.

Check out the article here.  Here's a few Justin pics from an earlier game.

We moved our meeting today to Marshall's restaurant for lunch instead of the stuffiness of the boardroom on the resort.  Marshall's is widely considered one of the best restaurants on the island and they sure didn't disappoint today.  They are located just a short jaunt from the Marriott in Fort Tyson at the Horizons Villa Resorts.

marshallsix.jpg (19032 bytes)     marshallthree.jpg (70212 bytes)

Marshall's is basically constructed right around a pool area at the Villa and consists of candlelit tables in front of an incredible ocean view.  The view is more incredible because of the way the restaurant sits atop a hill that slopes right down toward the ocean.  You can also hear serenading tree frogs in the trees surrounding the restaurant.

We had a variety of fare including the Butternut Squash soup and salads to start.  Our main courses consisted of Ravioli stuffed with Goat Cheese and Daron even tried the Blackened Mahi Mahi, which he said was great.  The ravioli was delicious and was covered in some type of Spinach sauce.  We also had Creme Brulee for dessert with coffee or espresso as you desired.  I had Pepsi, which was great because you usually can't find it anywhere on the island.  It's all Coke here.

The much anticipated arrival of my SPN Championship Ring has occurred.  Tony shipped it to me and it arrived today by FedEx.  You might recall that Venom managed to capture the SPN Ontario Co-ed D Championships back in September in Niagara Falls.

Included here are a few pictures of the ring, including myself modeling it in my office at the Royal Beach Casino.  I think I make a much better hand model than Costanza(Notice the Venom screensaver in the background.)

In related news, I know I promised pictures of the Round The Clock Tournament that Venom participated in a couple of weeks ago at the Rogers Center in Toronto.  But unfortunately Shaye still hasn't got her ass in gear and sent them to me yet.  As soon as she sends them, they will be posted here as well as on the Venom website.

What a great night for some action at the casino with the Super Bowl playing last night.  There was also a huge screen set up outside in the courtyard where a large crowd took in the action under a beautiful moonlit sky.  Fortunately for me, I decided not to bet on the Bears and I ended up putting all my action on the under.  The over/under was 47, and so I won the wager with only 46 points scored in the game.  Talk about close!  I really had no business winning the bet, since I'm shocked that the Colts decided not to kick the field goal in the closing minutes, but I'm definitely not going to complain about that.  Tomorrow I will hopefully have a pic or two from the festivities.  I'll keep you posted.

Also, I have now added a comments section for each post thanks to the wonders of Google.  Be gentle!

Today I did a 20 mile bike ride.  Myself and Warwick headed to Ottley's Plantation on the Atlantic side of the Island and then back to the resort.  Soon I'll be making the trek around the whole island which is about 40 miles around.  We came across a little bar on the side of the road called the Newfoundland Bar.  A little nod to good ol' Canada I guess.

Should be an easy night at work as I'm sure I'll spend most of it watching the Super Bowl.  We've got the usual big casino Super Bowl party going on for the high rollers.  As for myself, I'm putting a few bucks on the Bears since it pays well.  You gotta think the Colts will win, but the payout odds are terrible on them, so Da Bears it is.  I'll have to find a few good prop bets as well to make it interesting.  Also have to give a shout out to my bro Joe and his buddies watching the game back in Sydney Mines.  Should be a good time tonight.

Happy Birthday Joe!

Let's celebrate Joe's birthday with a look at his favorite rappers (hehehe) commercial debut.  Check out the much celebrated, not so anticipated, K-Fed (or should I say FedEx) and his Nationwide Commercial for the Super Bowl.  It's actually not that bad.  Did I just say that?!?

Watch all variations of the commercial here.

Here's some photos from the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club.  Myself, Larry O and Steph hit the course for a round.  Steph is visiting from Canada and is preparing to get into selling real estate here on the island.  She previously worked in the gaming business at Casino Windsor.
