I snapped one last picture from the Halifax and Cape Breton leg of my vacation.  Only in good ol' Nova Scotia would you find a liquor store inside of a toy store.  Classic.  Gotta start'em thinking about the booze early I guess...

And they say beauty queens can't answer intelligent questions.  Here is a great answer given by Ms. South Carolina in the Miss Teen USA pageant.

Well, I have to apologize for the lack of updates recently.  Just been a little too busy on the vacation circuit to take the time to get up-to-date.

I was able to take part in a DVD shoot this weekend for the Calendar Girls 2007 at my old stomping ground, The Palace nightclub in my Halifax, Nova Scotia.  It was a great time and the girls looked fantastic.  Should be a nice little credit on my slowly growing entertainment resume.  I've included a few pics here.  The rest can be found by clicking here, or by going to the Events section of the main menu.

The DVD is being produced by OG Event Filming.  If you would like to purchase a copy, email me and I will get the details for you as soon as it's ready.

A trip back to Cape Breton wouldn't be the same without a little fishing adventure.  We made the usual stops at MacLeod's Brook, MacLellan's Brook and Sky Glen.  Once again, the Cape Breton scenery was magnificent.  I took in about 30 fish myself, but I could only keep 5 as per the provincial allowances.  Looks like it's trout for dinner tomorrow.  I tore my boots, so I had to make do with my sneakers.  They were brand new setting out, but not so new now...

A few pics from our trip to Alderdale Greens in Point Edward.  There was some great Cape Breton scenery as you might expect from a course like this.

Just a quick note today to mention that my website videos have gone over 10,000 views on YouTube.  That's pretty damn good (or at least not bad) for a little upstart blogger like myself.  Guess I'll have to keep them coming.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

What a beautiful day in Cape Breton today, so we decided to head out for a trip to Ingonish Beach.  We had a group of five going including Phil, Jessica, Kansas, Colleen and of course myself.  The beach was great, but not too crowded, and we even had a nice meal at the Keltic Lodge.  Definitely a must stop along the magnificent Cabot Trail.  If you've ever thought about a Cape Breton trip to check out the Cabot Trail, some of this scenery may help with your decision.

This scenery also makes great wallpaper for your desktop.  After you click on the thumbnail to open up the large picture, just right-click on the larger picture and choose 'Set as Background'.

The Canadian Nationals ended today with our Venom team finishing approximately 9th in the standings.  Final results will be released in the coming days.  It was a disappointing but respectable finish to the tourney.  All the photos and video will be posted as usual on the venom website.

I will be heading to Cape Breton tomorrow to visit family and friends.  Should be a good trip.

The Canadian Nationals are well underway and we finished the round robin at 2-2.  Not overly impressive, but we managed to make it into the playoffs.   Check out the Venom website for pictures and updates.  We lost to a team from Porter's Lake, Nova Scotia in extra innings in the final game of the Round Robin.  Here are a few pictures for some samples of the action.  The rest can be found on the Venom website.

That's Turgeon in the first picture and my nice new blue cleats in the second.  Next is Gibby waiting on first and in the last we can see Shaye being tended to after an evil opponent slid into her at third.

We also stopped by the Mandarin Buffet in St. Catharines for a post practice feast.  The food was fantastic there as always and we were quite full after we finished tearing into the buffet.  I even had a little sushi.  Here are a few pictures and a video of the fish pond at the Mandarin, hopefully none of these making it into the sushi I had.
