I took a trip up to the Observation Deck on the resort here to try and get a picture of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course. I succeeded but it didn't turn out quite as good as I had hoped.
You can also see me here checking out the landscape from the telescope we have up there for tourists.

This is the Lobby Statue that greets you when you enter the resort. It is located in a fountain and waterfall at the rear of the lobby once you enter.

The island is sort of shaped like a guitar in that it gets quite narrow in the middle before expanding again on the other side. The resort is located right next to this narrow part. I took a trip up the hill next to the resort and took a beautiful picture of the narrow part of the island. The Atlantic Ocean is on the left, with the Caribbean on the right.

Here's a little picture of one of the locals getting coconuts. He used a stick for the easy way, but usually you can see locals climbing up trees by holding onto a tree and walking up similar to how a monkey would. It's a very effective technique and shows quite a bit of skill on their part.

Since the island was formed from a volcano, and the volcano still exists at the center of the island, it is of no surprise that we should see volcano rocks around. We took a trip out to Black Rock, as its called, and saw some great scenery of volcanic rocks in that area. It is apparently remnants of Mount Liamuiga, the once active volcano. It is located in the village of Bellevue, as you can see from the sign.
Our tour guide for our trip out to Black Rock was Mr. Cool, as he's known. He is a local taxi driver whose real name is Roosevelt. The local taxi drivers offer their own tours around the island for a little cheaper than the formal tour companies.

Our second day on tour we were fortunate to get a fairly close up picture of a Green Monkey near Turtle Beach.
There were a ton of animals and wildlife around. In particular, pigs, goats and cows were everywhere you looked. They were just walking down the streets and eating grass here and there. Interesting.

Took a trip to Turtle Beach with Lauren today. We had a chance to meet Myrtle the Pig. She was absolutely huge. I didn't know Pigs could get that big.
Look at the size of that thing compared to Lauren! |
