Unfortunately we didn't get any awards in the film festival. We were all disappointed as we thought we had a quality film. It was very noticeable that it was all comedies that won awards. Ours was a drama and perhaps those types of films were not what the judges were interested in. Oh well, at least we'll know better for next time.

Well, big news from Toronto in that we were the only film tonight to get a standing ovation at the theater where it was shown. That bodes well for us, especially in the audience choice category. Unfortunately I couldn't be there to see myself on the big screen but my buddies said it was cool to see me up there. Looking forward to the awards banquet in a few days, we might be in for a prize.

We finished the festival with a short film entitled "Shocking Odds". We're fairly proud of our work considering we had to write the script, shoot the film and finish editing the final product, all in a 48 hour weekend. We had to use a paint roller, a sandbox and use the phrase "struck by lightning" in the film. Click on the film section for all the information on the film.

It's off to Toronto to participate in the Toronto 48 Hour Film Festival. We're all pretty excited. It will be our first attempt at producing a short film in record time, so it will be quite a challenge for us I'm sure.

Since I'm back in Niagara Falls on a little vacation, I was fortunate enough to get in a little softball action with my former, and somewhat current team, Venom. Check out the website here.

Here's an overhead view of the main pool I took a while back from the observation deck.
It's a great shot with the swim up bar at the rear of the pool. Now we're talking.

I snapped this picture a little while back of a local riding in town on a donkey. I had to be a bit sneaky, because some of them are not big fans of getting their picture taken. Luckily he didn't notice me. I forgot to include it earlier so here it is. I think it's a good sneak peak at some of the local culture.

Finally had a chance to eat in the Seafood Restaurant that is on the Resort. It is next to the main pool and it is called "Blu". Apparently the Ocean Sampler is amazing, everyone raves about it. I had the chicken, go figure!

Went swimming in a little cove close to the resort. We weren't the only people around as you can see. The water was quite warm on this side as it is the Caribbean side. The Atlantic side is colder.
I still have a golfers tan since I go swimming a lot, but don't do enough sunbathing to get a thorough tan.
